Tony Todd to appear in Jordan Peele’s Candyman sequel!

Director Jordan Peele is so darn hot right now - everything he touches seems to turn into gold. He just knows how to do creepy movies so when he announced that he was making a sequel to the 90s classic, Candyman, fans were pretty ecstatic.

Even more surprising is that he’s roped in the original Candyman, Tony Todd to appear in the sequel. Here’s what Tony had to say about it:

Out of the blue, I got a phone call from Jordan Peele.We’re still waiting for the contract, but the way he explained it to me was that it’s gonna be applause-worthy moments. That’s his words.No matter what happens with that, it’s gonna just put renewed attention on the original.

There’s no plot details just yet or if Tony Todd will be reprising the role of Candyman or if he’ll just have a cameo appearance. All we know about the film is that it will be set in the same Chicago neighbourhood where it all began. It’s not due for release until June 2020 so we’ve got a bit of a wait but I’m proper psyched for this!
