The trophy that saved Alex Ferguson's job. His side certainly made hard work of things though.
Palace almost won it with two late goals from substitute Ian Wright, before Mark Hughes' 113th minute injury time equaliser levelled it up at 3-3 to force the replay (they had those for finals back in 1990).
United won the second fixture 1-0 and Ferguson ended up doing fairly well at Old Trafford. Might a similar result tomorrow kick-start Louis van Gaal's United reign? Probably not.
