Oscars viewers left puzzled over live-action Pinocchio movie nobody heard about
If you were one of the people watching the Oscars you might have been left confused as to how a live-action adaptation of Pinocchio managed to fly under the radar. The movie was released in 2019 and directed by Matteo Garrone and yet hardly anyone knew anything about it. How bizarre! Here’s the trailer in case you’re interested:
I mean it looks good, so where the hell was the hype?! After the movie was mentioned as a nominee for Best Costume Design and Best Makeup and Hairstyling, viewers were kinda like “what even is this film?!” One person took to Twitter to write: "Just found out they made a live-action Pinocchio movie this year and it will haunt my dreams."
Yup. Super weird considering Pinocchio is such a popular tale. Maybe the director pissed a few people off or didn't suck off the right people or something. Either way, I’ll give it watch and see what it’s all about.
