When Aaron Ramsey scores, a celebrity dies. We were first alerted to this strange phenomenon a couple of months back and after his wonder-strike against Tottenham in Saturday's north London derby we were fearing the worst.
Sure enough, by Sunday news of the death of former U.S First Lady Nancy Reagan was filtering through. She made it to 94, a pretty decent innings, but if Ramsey had just scuffed his shot wide she'd no doubt still be with us now.
RIP Nancy.
