Ahead of the launch of their new kit this week, Southampton enlisted the help of colour pyschologist Dr Barry Gale and his Players Integrated Stripe Strategy (PISS) to ease the transition.
Gale does look quite a lot like Tom Davis off of The Morgana Show and Murder In Successville, but is clearly legit and a trained professional. Not an actor.
Maverick techniques include stripey goalposts;
Stripey bandages that heal injuries up to 20% faster;
Modifying Jose Fonte's Aston Martin;
And stripey-balled golf practice with Matt Le Tissier.
I don't want to go over the top here, but I'd argue that he sits alongside Eileen Drewery and Clive Woodward in the lineage of football's great innovators. Check out the film.
