Le Tournoi 1997: A four-team round robin-tournament held in France and contested by the hosts, Italy, Brazil and an England side fresh from the glorious failure of Euro 96, but with that of the 1998 World Cup still to come.
Glenn Hoddle's side did manage to punctuate those disappointments by taking home the trophy, but the winner was undoubtedly Roberto Carlos with this goal against France.
Beautiful. And ripe for an 8-bit re-working, obviously.
Enjoyed that.
