Man Utd have got an Official Partner for pretty much anything you can think of. A new tie-in will pop up every couple of months, and when they do they're generally accompanied by a joint press release that marvels at how the club and brand share so many of the same values (excellence, attention to detail etc).
Fairly straightforward when it's a razor or something (we're the best at football, you're the best at shaving) but when it comes to the Official Alcoholic Beverage Partner things get a little more difficult. Obviously the brand want the players associated with their product, but not to the point where they actually go and drink some of it and risk no longer being a 'leader in their field'. Where's your shared values then?
Which brings us to this Aperol Spritz-themed beach party. Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole are serving, whilst some people that aren't elite footballers are drinking. Meanwhile, Rooney and the rest of the full-kit wanker brigade provide a textbook example of precisley the sort of people you wouldn't want attending your party by playing table football on the periphery.
