It’s hardly surprising to hear that pollution has been the cause of most of our environmental health problems and will probably be the death of us one day. As if that wasn’t bleak enough a scientist has just dropped the bombshell that pollution is also responsible for the worldwide shrinkage and ‘malformation’ of human penises.
Environmental scientist Dr Shanna Swan says humanity is facing an “existential crisis” in fertility rates as a result of phthalates which is a chemical used when manufacturing plastics. Apparently the chemical has a huge impact on the human endocrine system which produces hormones. In Dr Swan’s book, depressingly titled ‘Count Down’, she looks at “how our modern world is threatening sperm counts, altering male and female reproductive development, and imperiling the future of the human race”.
Dr Swan studied phthalate syndrome in rats and saw that when foetuses were exposed to the chemical they were likely to be born with shrunken genitals. Dr Swan also predicts that coupled with decreasing fertility rates she reckons most men will be unable to produce viable sperm by 2045.
Well cheers for that Dr Swan. That’s really put me in a shitty mood. Not only are we looking at infertility in the future but we have to contend with shrunken dicks in meantime. I guess we need to crack on and use our dicks (I mean collectively, I don’t personally have a penis) wisely whilst we still can, like wanking over the hottest babes on Rampant TV!
