A bunch of women from Newark, New Jersey, have dubbed themselves the ‘Long Nail Goddesses’ over their obsession with super long nails.
The women all meet at Maria Ortiz's nail salon regularly where they swap tips about the trials and tribulations of what they call the 'long nail lifestyle'. Salon owner Maria began specialising in long nails over a decode ago after a client asked for a set of nine-inch talons. Maria realised there was a gap in the market of nail technicians doing super long, elaborately decorated nails so she started offering the service.
Maria charges $100 (£75) for a manicure which can take her up to seven hours to do. Doesn’t really seem worth it really does it?! What I really want to know is, how do they pick their nose? Use a tampon? Scratch their fanny? These are the questions I really need answering.
