Jonah Hill in talks to play The Riddler in new Batman movie!
It looks like Jonah Hill is in talks to play a villain in the new Batman movie opposite Robert Pattinson, and a source says that he’ll be playing the Riddler and not the Penguin like everyone assumed.
Matt Reeves will be directing movie, with Westworld’s Jeffrey Wright onboard to play Commissioner Gordon which I find pretty underwhelming. I mean he’s no Gary Oldman is he!
Jonah Hill had apparently been pegged for the role of Penguin ever since Matt Reeves took on the project but he now appears to have changed his mind. While it’s still not 100% confirmed on which villain Hill will play, it was was mentioned a while back that the Riddler would be the first villain cast, so that gives us a pretty huge clue that he won’t be Penguin.
As well as directing, Reeves has also written the screenplay, and he’ll produce with his War for the Planet of the Apes collaborator Dylan Clark. The tone of this film is set to be pretty dark and Hill has already proved himself to great in serious roles such as his series Maniac and Wolf of Wall Street so we know he’s got this is the bag. One things for sure, it’s going to be a seriously interesting watch. Warner Bros will release The Batman on June 25th, 2021.
