Jennifer Lopez & Cardi B star in 'Hustlers', a movie about stripper fraudsters
There's a new Jennifer Lopez movie coming out and I'd love to say it looks like utter dogshit because J-Lo just winds me up but TBF, it actually looks pretty decent.
The movie entitled Hustlers, stars Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B and Julia Stiles and is a revenge tale about a group of strippers who join forces against the Wall Street dudes who treat them like dirt. Check out the trailer:
The film is actually based on a 2015 article written by Jessica Pressler for The Cut. The piece was, titled "The Hustlers at Scores" followed the story of Roselyn Keo and Samantha Barbash in the late 2000s. Keo dropped out of school at 17 and decided to become a stripper where she met Barbash, who showed her the ropes, or the pole. Barbash then came up with a way of making more cash - She'd lure her wealthiest clients to the strip club where she would spike their drinks with a mix of MDMA and ketamine to mess with their memory so they could steal thousands of dollars from the clients. The Drug Enforcement Agency looked into the women after one of their own spilled the beans. The authorities caught up with Keo and Barbash in 2014 and prosecuted them for forgery, conspiracy, grand larceny, and assault.
Pretty fascinating story. Hustlers hits cinemas on 13th September.
