Here's the first trailer for Fred Durst's new horror movie starring John Travolta
I never thought I’d see Fred Durst and John Travolta pairing up on a project, but stranger things have happened I suppose. You may remember a few months back I wrote an article about Fred Durst turning his hand to writing and directing a movie. Well that movie is now finished and we’ve got the trailer to show you.
The movie, entitled The Fanatic, is loosely based on an experience Durst had with a fan and stars Travolta as a violent stalker obsessed with a guy called Hunter Dunbar, played by Devon Sawa. Things get a tad out of hand after Travolta breaks into his idols house and starts getting all batshit. Check out the trailer:
It looks like like it’s one notch above a B-movie. A ‘C’ movie? Is that a thing?! If it’s not then it should be. Could be fun though, if a tad cheesy.
Here’s what old Jonny Travolta has to say about the movie:
It may be my favorite experience I’ve had. Fred was so generous. He’s such an artist and he allowed me to create a character that nobody else would allow. I mean it’s really a wild character and I felt very free to do that.
I notice he’s not saying anything about the movie and he’s just talking about the fact that Fred allowed him to play a weird character. I mean it might be a decent film, or there might be a reason why no one else has allowed Travolta to play that sort of character. We’ll see! The Fanatic is due for release on August 30th, showing in limited cinemas.
