Trailer drops for HBO’s new Muhammad Ali documentary
We all know Muhammad Ali as the greatest boxer the world has ever seen so why it’s taken this long for a decent documentary to come out is beyond me. Finally HBO has just revealed that they will be releasing a new documentary about the life and career of Ali called What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali, and it looks freakin amazing.
Here’s the official trailer and synopsis:
Directed by Antoine Fuqua with LeBron James and Maverick Carter serving as executive producers, What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali explores Ali’s challenges, confrontations, comebacks and triumphs through recordings of his own voice.
The two-part documentary paints an intimate portrait of a man who was a beacon of hope for oppressed people around the world and, in his later years, was recognized as a global citizen and a symbol of humanity and understanding.
Alongside using Ali himself to guide viewers through his journey, What’s My Name | Muhammad Ali features archival footage, some of it previously unseen.
I have extremely high hopes for this documentary down to the pure fact that HBO are absolute ballers when it comes to TV shows - Game of Thrones, Big Little Lies and Curb Your Enthusiasm are just a few of their winning shows so this shiz should be epic. What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali is due for US release on May 14th. There’s no UK release date yet but it probably won’t be far behind.
