It'd be one thing if this was a goal difference boosting, cherry on the cake penalty. A consolatory take-the-sting-out-of-a-heavy-defeat penalty, maybe? We'd have a laugh...
Unfortunately, this was a Very Important Penalty.
With half-time approaching, Swansea were trailing the hosts West Brom 1-0. This, as I'm sure you're aware, is what's known in the trade as 'a good time to score'. Put it away, get yourselves in level, something to build on for the second half. Ideal.
But he fucked it. And West Brom, having been majorly let off the hook, proceeded to add a couple more after the break. Final score: 3-0.
All could have been so different though, couldn't it? If only Bersant Celina hadn't fucked it like that...
