Robin van Persie announces retirement
The former Man Utd and Arsenal striker, now back with his boyhood club Feyenoord, has today announced that he'll be hanging up his boots at the end of this season.
There were a lot of what-might-have-beens (injuries) (minimal trophies) during his time with the Gunners, but the eventual league title with United and that goal at the World Cup will surely be some highly-treasured memories when he looks back on his career. He did alright in the end, didn't he?
And THAT GOAL!
Robin Van Persie is set to retire at the end of the season.

Let's all take a moment and thank him for giving us this beautiful goal. pic.twitter.com/69w1gBfgaO
Couple of handy stats: No player has scored more goals for the Netherlands national team (50), and no Dutch player has scored more goals (144) in English football.
Tidy.
